This collaboration is somewhat special for adidas and Till Jagla due to its concept designed and manufactured from vegan leather, natural cork and largely recycled materials. To be precise: 100% recycled polyester was used for the outer material and only leftovers from previous productions were utilized for the inner lining. The outsole is primarily made of natural rubber, 90% of which comes from sustainable sources and contains a ten percent share of rubber waste. From a global perspective, only a handful of vegan sneakers are part of the adidas product repertoire. The starting point for this collaboration is the mutual conviction of both parties to become more and more aware of the responsibility and behavior for a more sustainable result and to strengthen this belief with upcoming projects and products. In 2018, for example, adidas publicly committed to only use recycled plastic company-wide by 2024. The Superearth pair was released worldwide on August 29, 2020.
